Beans and Franks

Across the Street

We have seen this momma and her twins off and on all summer…the babies are getting big. They like to eat my plants, which I don’t appreciate but they sure are fun to watch.

A fun story about Nate…his middle name is Bradley (after his pop of course!). Brad is named after his great grandfather.  The other day Nate said that someday he is going to name his son Bradley to continue the tradition. I think he thinks it is kind of neat carrying on the name. I hope he still feels that way in 20 years or so!

Don’t You Wish You Could Eat Oreos Every Day and Still Look Like This?

My cousins Nick and Kari that I ran the 5 k with…well, I brought up the rear, but we did start out together :-)

Kicking It Old School

And you thought they looked alike before!! Check out the garage buzz cut that Ryan got from his pop tonight!! It was actually Nate’s idea, he wanted his buzzed so Brad did it. Then the little guy wanted in on the action and so he got one too (not to mention we just went to Great Clips on Friday and just paid for haircuts)…Payton is at a friend’s tonight but I’m sure he wouldn’t part with his locks. He already went a little shorter this summer…he’s a little vain about his hair, to say the least :-)

Sleepover!

Payton holding Eli – basically we all fought over who was going to hold the little guy the entire time he was here! Lucy and Ryan had fun making puppets…

Hey…don’t those two have the same haircut?  Nate and Payton were both a huge help…I can see how some of the families with umpteen kids do it, if you have older siblings that can (and are willing) to help, it makes the job a little easier.

So long 4th grade and 1st grade! Hello 5th grade and 2nd grade!!

Play Ball!

A Bit Busy

That would be an understatement!! Between a new job, travel, training, spring sports and swimming lessons – well, I’m surprised I’m still sane! Actually, I have to thank Brad for holding down the fort the past two weeks while I was in Irvine for work.  He did a great job of getting everyone where they needed to be – school, sports the whole shibang!  Ryan is playing t-ball this year….now we have all three going :-) Nate had his first couple of games while I was gone and so did Pay. Nate made a double play (caught a fly ball and tagged another batter at the bag)!!! Brad said he was smiling from ear to ear.  Payton is pitching some again this year and Brad said he has mowed down some guys and he had a triple one night last week too. So we will be living and breathing baseball until the end of July.  Good times :-)

Brad and Payton went to an Angels game when they came out to CA. Manny (before the latest banned substance thing hit)

Excited to play ball!

Spring Program

The boys had their spring music program at school Tuesday night. Payton was mad that I made him wear a “nice” shirt (buttoned down) and dress pants. I won that battle though – I let him do the sports thing pretty much all the time but I pull rank when it comes to getting ready for church or something like this.  Nate didn’t seem to mind and I think he actually liked being spiffed up!  About a half a dozen of the first graders had a drawing they had done turned into a program and Nate’s was picked…at the end of the program they said their names and thanked them for their drawing…when Nate’s name was called he gives a chest thump and and throws out the “peace” sign. Priceless!
