We’re OK

Hey – sorry to our relatives who called last night to check on us after seeing the 35W Bridge collapse…we watched a ton of news coverage and then decided to take a break from it and go outside.  We didn’t even think to check messages when we came inside.  We are all fine.  That particular bridge is north of where Brad works so he seldom uses it and I travel on it only a couple times a week.  My brother in law Dustin is the one who travels that route probably more than anyone in our Minneapolis family and he is out of the country – thank goodness!  Thanks for thinking of us and I’m sure we will all continue to pray for the families affected by this unthinkable occurrence.

A Vote

I’d like to take a poll….are you feeling this new page style?  Or should I go back to my green grass? That did seem to typify our suburban lives, to a certain extent.  I kind of feel like mixing it up a bit but WordPress doesn’t give you a ton of options for page styles.

Will this go under the most boring post ever written?

Guess Who Bought Our House??

When we received our purchase agreement, Brad commented that the name of the husband was the same as a Twins relief pitcher. We kind of dismissed it, thinking it was just a coincidence. We do have another Twins player that has lived here for a couple of years, Glen Perkins. Through the neighborhood gossip chain, we found out that Glen referred his colleague, Jesse Crain to this neighborhood. Lo and behold, he bought our house! Payton thought it was pretty cool that a Twins player was in his room!!

Here are a couple of pictures of the new house. Our address will be 18055 Lamar Court, Lakeville, MN 55044 as of May 30, 2oo7!

Somehow the “comments” got shut off and of course, I can’t figure out how to turn them back on.  You will have to e-mail the old fashioned way until I get it figured out!

The House Sold!!

Woo Hoo!!  We received an offer Monday night and accepted it…so, anybody free the weekend of May 30th?  I kid, I kid.  I think we are going to rent one of those pod things and load it up gradually.  Now, I need to start packing.  It will be a good time to do a little purging as well.  There is a toybox downstairs that has Goodwill written all over it.  More to come later….

Movie Recommendation

If you are looking for some good laughs and sophmoric humor, go see “Blades of Glory”, starring Will Ferrell.  I went on Friday night and laughed my head off!  The whole theater was rolling…..so if you don’t mind jokes about body parts and and are there for laughs and not the storyline, you will enjoy this movie!

Just Thought This Picture Was Cute

My Little Godchild

april-7-2007-022.jpg

I guess God decided that because he gave me three rowdy sons that I would be blessed with four beautiful nieces to spoil!  I was lucky enough to be the godmother this past weekend for the newest addition to our family, Zoe.  My other local niece is Lucy and she will be turning 2 this week.  Our little California nieces, Jordan and Haley, are super cute and we wish that we could see them more….but when we do get together, it is so much fun.  Thank heaven for little girls!!  And boys….

Triplets

A picture they will someday probably hate and lament the fact that their dorky mother made them wear matching shirts.  They didn’t mind matching at all (I was surprised I didn’t get any static from Payton), I think they may have even liked it!

Ryan x 2

march-31-2007-003.jpg - Ryan Hoch and Ryan Conrad having a little popcorn, a little juice box and watching Ice Age 2.  We had Ryan H. stay over on Friday night and the two little Ryans had a lot of fun.  I chuckled as I overheard them playing in Ryan C.’s bedroom….he calls her girl Ryan and she calls him Baby Ryan.

Ryan H. holding up a toy, “What’s this baby Ryan?”

Ryan C. “A guy, Girl Ryan”

Ryan H. holding up another toy, “What’s this Baby Ryan?”

Ryan C. “A lego, Girl Ryan”

This went on through about 5 or 6 toys, each time they addressed each other as Baby Ryan and Girl Ryan - it was hysterical!

A Cool Guy With a Shiny Melon

A friend and colleague from work has done a really cool (and a little crazy) thing to help raise money to go towards research for childhood cancer.  He shaved his head!  Now this guy had a thick head of hair, man.  If you interested in checking out the Shiny Melon Guy (as he is now calling himself), also known as Caleb Truax, click on the link below.  While you are there – donate a little dough to help fight childhood cancer!
